Naomi was born in Bangalore, India to missionary parents and grew up between India and Texas. At the age of twelve she slipped into a coma and woke up with a diagnosis of Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. She began on a physical and emotional journey that would lead her to touch the lives of people within the diabetic community.
At thirteen Naomi became a certified yoga therapist in hopes of helping diabetics and other people through yoga. At eighteen she self published her first book Sugar Free Me and followed up with an e-book at the age of twenty called Sugar Free Teens.
Her books are carried online and in bookstores around the nation. With her yoga and books she gives her God, her loved ones, and her diagnosis all of the credit for the path her life has taken.
In her free time Naomi serves as a Medtronic Patient Ambassador by taking part in monthly webinars and speaking engagements. She volunteers as a board member for the website Diabetic Rockstar. And she is also on the board for Cyndi Parks Memorial Home, a foster home for young diabetic girls.
With her roles in the diabetic community she uses her words to spread hope to the hopeless, with an emphasis on younger patients and their family members.
