Kimberly has worked hard to overcome the challenges of diabetes in a positive way.  Her attitude epitomizes “living without limitations” and she is an inspiration to other teens, whether diabetic or not!

Kim works hard at her schooling and has taken inspiration from her associations with medical professionals and is considering a career in the medical field herself.

With the current school year just having ended, she is going to be the representative from her high school in a Girls State Leadership Forum. She will participate in a program where, along with other high school students, she will help form their own government and promote legislation, present bills, etc.  (Kim will be presenting on a bill on diabetic children’s rights in school.) Her parents are very proud of her accomplishments and have always told her: “Don’t say you can’t, just know what you want. Dream big and use discernment in attaining your wants; to the point that everyone wins, and it will be all good”.

In addition to her schooling, Kim is on her school’s girl’s golf team. Her local newspaper reports she has helped her Bearcats come in third in her PAC 7 high school league. Exemplifying the attitude of no limits means working hard to improve at a sport she loves. Her coach was quoted as saying he: “Couldn’t have asked for a harder working group of athletes” and knows “they show up every day and work hard.”

Kim’s photo was recently included in her local newspaper’s sports pages.
